GREETINGS!

Welcome to DXScape - an amateur radio DX Cluster Browser program
designed to run under MS Windows (95/NT)

1. To install, simply select the install in WinZip.If you have
unzipped a file to your HD then RUN setup.exe.

2. To RUN or better yet, click on the icon from the newly created
program file. It will now seek the DX Summit page for you (default),
if you have a network connection open. If you have a dial-up
(modem) connection, the operation system should make the network
connection first (starting dialing).

3. The Freeware version of DXBrowser will now come up. Freeware means
you may use this program as you wish, pass it to friends, load it
on local BBS's, etc. with no fees, no strings attached. But it must
be kept together as your received it; don't add or change anything.
I have the copyrights of the program.

4. The program will include the following things:

- You can browse WWW files using the program, not only
DX clusters.

- Set refresh on to enable continuous updating of the www page.
Timer is for setting the time between updates.

- Time in the right corner show the time when the page was
updated. Counter box in the statusbar shows how many times
the page is updated. Maximum count is 60. After that counter
starts again from 1.

- Serial port is there for if you want to transfer the e.g. the DX
spots into packet network or just send them out using tnc and
a radio.

- URL_Settings stands for changing the URLs behind the buttons.
Use this if you want other www pages to the buttons or the location
of DX Summit changes. These URLs are stored also in the registry.
Be careful if you want to edit them straight in the registry.

The program runs in normal network environment (with network cards,
modem). I am running it using a dial-up connection in Win95 and NT
and in office using an ATM connection (WinNT). You might get problems
if network connection is not normal (Windows). If you have problems,
drop me a line!
