Considering the increase in the use of .NET domains in Japan, it has been decided by JPNIC to start allowing on an experimental basis the registration of .NET domains in the domestic name servers. This document describes the procedure for registering .NET domains in the domestic name servers and the related precautions to be taken. * The .NET domains referred to in this document are the domain names of the form XXXX.NET. 0.The method of setting for registering a .NET domain in the domestic name server is at present in the experimental stage in terms of technology. Hence, JPNIC does not accept any responsibility if there is any problem arising out of this setting. 1.When a .NET domain acquired from InterNIC is to be registered in a domestic name server, the domain information for that .NET domain is prepared and is registered in the database of JPNIC according to the normal procedure. 2.For registering .NET domains in Internet name servers, JPNIC will not relay the details of application to InterNIC. The application should be made directly to InterNIC separately. 3.The domestic name server and the Internet name server are identical, enter the same data in the column for the Internet name server as that in the domestic name server in the domain information that is registered in the JPNIC database. 4.When registering a .NET domain in a domestic name server, it is essential that the domain name is permitted connection to any one of the JPNIC Member Network Projects and also is permitted connection to international circuit by any one of the JPNIC Member Network Projects that have international circuits. However, this restriction does not apply when the organization has its own international circuit. 5.When deleting a .NET domain from a domestic name server, make the application for such deletion addressed to query@db.nic.ad.jp. (This is not processed by the machine automatically.)
